NORTH DOWN COUNCIL
CIVIC RECEPTION

Bangor Town Hall
19 April 2007

North Down Council held a Civic Reception in Bangor Town Hall to mark the successful Bangor Northern Ireland Supporters Club Trip to Bregenz in Austria.

The reception was attended by a good number of members who made the trip and an equally impressive number of Councillors from all political parties.

After a finger buffet, the Mayor of North Down, Alan Leslie made a short speech which made reference to the Twinning Links with Bregenz. The relationship with the Austrian town have been in place for twenty years and many Councillors were glad to see that ordinary members of the public, such as the Supporters Club, were taking advantage of these links.

In the unavoidable absence of the Club Chairman, membership Secretary and tour leader Peter Vannucci gave an overview of the trip and this was followed by an impressive pictorial presentation which had been prepared by Megan McCreedy.

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, sound was not available on the plasma screens and peter had to ad-lib his way through the images of what was a brilliant trip.

After the presentation, members mingled with the Councillors, some posing for photographs. Opportunity was also taken to inform the politicians, which included some MLAs, of the Bangor NISC stance against the Maze stadium.

A good evening was had by all.
